About Yolkeye
Yolkeye is the creative outlet of partners Kim and Jake. They make ceramics from the dining room in their Melbourne home.Â
Why is it called Yolkeye? Jake is an anime enthusiast and is inspired by the Japanese spirits and creatures known as Yōkai. The name is a play on words and his personal take on them.
He started making creature sculptures inspired by the high percentile of our baby son's head but our work evolved as Kim joined in. While the creations take a few different directions, they all share a common theme of levity and fun.
